Missing opening day
Mt. Baker in I think 7 years this Tuesday. I’m sad that I won’t be up there for what looks to be shaping up for an epic opening day, but excited I’ll be missing it in order to sign paperwork for closing our house.
Take some powder turns for me please!

Looks like this house thing is actually happening!
Everything has been falling into place along the way. We are working on scheduling a closing date!
Here are some photos.. it’s small, but we love it.

Heading towards home ownership!
I’m psyched! We are well on our way down the path to home ownership for the first time! I could write volumes about what we’ve been up to over the last couple of weeks during this process, but it’s late and probably not all that interesting to those of you not buying a house at the moment.
Basically we went out on a fact finding mission with our wonderful real estate agent a couple of weekends ago to look at some properties, and hopefully get a better idea what we wanted, and could afford. Much to my surprise, we found a place in Seattle that we liked that was only slightly out of our price rage. After a few hours of deliberation while looking at some absolute dives, we made an offer. Again to my surprise, the following day they accepted(!) and off we went on this winding path to home ownership.
Purchase paperwork, addendums, mortgage applications, mortgage paperwork, mortgage paperwork, inspection, appraisal, mortgage paperwork, addendum, mortgage paperwork - that’s been what we’ve been up to if you want to know ![]()
I’m going to skip sharing specifics and photos until we get closer to closing, but things are so far looking really good. Closing is scheduled for the 15th of November, but may even happen sooner. I have a feeling this blog will turn into the journal of the first time home owner very quickly should this all go though. I can’t wait to cut my first hole in a wall, wire my first new circuit. Then again, there is all the lawn mowing, gutter cleaning, weeding, pruning, painting, fixing, replacing, worrying.. yeah, I’m kind of looking forward to that part too.
