Let me say that I supported the smoking ban, and voted for it – though reluctantly. As a one time smoker, friend of smokers, and fan of many a dive bar, I have some mixed feelings about the ban. The bottom line for me personally is, I very much dislike cigarette smoke around me. As much as I agree that smokers should have the right to smoke where they please, I feel more strongly that I should be able to go places I like without coming home smelling an ashtray. Maybe I’m just being selfish, but you know – I only get one vote so I’m going to use it how I want.
